Mike Patipa, M.D.
Medical Science Advisor
Mike Patipa is a medical science advisor to JARI Research. He has served in this capacity since December 2005.
Dr. Patipa is the founder of Oculoplastic and Orbital Consultants of West Palm Beach, Florida. This practice is devoted to complex reconstructive surgery, cosmetic surgery, and the treatment of complications associated with cosmetic surgery. Mike is a sought-after lecturer and instructor who has trained physicians around the world in ocular plastic surgery. In addition to his practice and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Patipa operates MBP, LLC which specializes in exporting healthcare and related technology products.
Mike has authored numerous articles for medical journals as well as medical textbook chapters on plastic and reconstructive surgery around the eyes. He is an innovator who has introduced new technologies and techniques to this field. He holds two patents for surgical design.
Mike Patipa received his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta. He attended the Free University of Brussels Medical School, receiving his medical degree from the University of Miami (FL) in 1976. After completing an internship in Ob-Gyn at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, he did a residency in Ophthalmology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He also completed an advanced training fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Texas in Houston.
Other ventures for Dr. Patipa include Permark Corporation, a medical technology company he founded to serve the plastic surgery community; Northpoint Outpatient Surgery and Laser Center in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he was a founder; and Seisint, Inc. of Boca Raton where he served as a founding board member.
