Hank Asher
Founder, JARI Research Corporation

Hank Asher formed JARI Research Foundation in 2004 as a philanthropic endeavor to support breakthrough cancer research. In cooperation with the Mayo Clinic, the foundation evolved into JARI Research Corporation a year later.

Since JARI Research's inception, Hank has envisioned therapies that selectively attack cancer cells without the adverse side effects commonly associated with cancer treatments. He has always believed that the patient's quality of life is as important as destroying the disease itself. Hank dedicates his time and efforts to maintaining JARI's perpetual sense of urgency as it pioneers promising science in the war on cancer.

Hank Asher is the quintessential entrepreneur. While still a teenager, he moved from Indiana to Florida and became a painting contractor. He eventually employed over 100 painters and built a $10 million business; making him a millionaire by the age of thirty.

The advent of the personal computer (PC) in the 80's fascinated him. He taught himself programming; and while most software developers were trying to get the PC to run a hundred disparate programs, he envisioned hundreds of PC's working together with a single program.

Leveraging this vision, Hank formed two stand-alone companies that attained a combined capitalization of almost $1.5 billion. He built DataBase Technologies (DBT) from an operation in his garage to a public company traded on the NYSE. DBT eventually merged with ChoicePoint, Inc. (NYSE: CPS). In 1998 Hank founded Seisint, a closely held data services provider. Seisint was acquired by Reed-Elsevier (RE), the London based provider of online data and information services. Seisint was merged into RE's LexisNexis Risk Management unit in 2004. Seisint's flagship product, Accurint, remains the category-standard for speed and data-linking technology.

These two data integration/management companies revolutionized how the public and private sectors investigate and locate individuals and businesses. Millions of times each day, users in law enforcement, government and the private sectors work with Hank's technologies to protect people, search for abducted children and prevent costly fraud.

Law enforcement organizations, including the FBI, U.S. Secret Service, Department of Justice and International Association of Chiefs of Police, have recognized Hank’s contributions to fighting crime and protecting the security of our country.

Hank supports a variety of local, regional and national charities. He serves on the board of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
